Head of Load-Frequency Control Department, Power Systems Institute, Russia

1959 – graduated from the Moscow Power College, specialization: Relay Protection and Automatics of Power Systems. 1965 – Master of Science in Cybernetics of Power Systems, Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

Mr. Mashanskij worked over forty years at the All-Union Electric Power Research Institute (VNIIE), during the last years – as Head of Research Sector. In 2007 he joined Power System Institute as Head of Load-Frequency Control Department. Mr. Mashanskij was directly involved as a participant and a leader in several projects focusing on development and commissioning load-frequency control (LFC) systems at Central Dispatching Office for UES of Russia including Interregional Dispatching Offices of the Urals, South and North-West and connecting a number of power units of thermal power plants to the LFC systems. Mr. Mashanskij has published over 50 scientific articles including those in co-authorship.

Mr. Mashanskij was a member of Working Group 3 “Power System Control” of the project “Feasibility study: Synchronous Interconnection of the IPS/UPS with the UCTE”.
